Apart from serving as floating stages and pump pontoons, SIFJ technology can be deployed to support cruise and ferry transportation. Floating jetties are an ideal solution in such projects for safe boarding/disembarking of passengers from the vessels while at the same time ensuring year around operations. As a result, AIPL expanded its horizon further and contributed Two Passenger Jetties (320 sq mtr, 112 tonne) for cruise berthing under the Cruise Development Project issued by Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam. The cruise vessel is developed by Goa Shipyard Ltd and covers a distance of 10 kms from Ravidas Ghat to Rajghat and promotes environment friendly tourism in the state of U.P.. In addition to cruise berthing, Floating jetties can also be utilised for other tourism related activities such as water sports, adventure sports, boating facilities, etc.
